Thank you Cameron Hughes for sponsoring this post. Capture the celebratory spirit of the holidays, and toast to the season with Cameron Hughes wine!
We love to entertain at our house. I grew up in a big Sicilian family where cooking for a gang was regular fare, and people gathered at our house because they knew the food would be good, the wine would be flowing, and the company would be lively (present company included!) That family tradition carries forward with me to today, and we love to have friends over for wine, food and fun.

If you’re anything like me, it can be a pain to coordinate these get-togethers – preparing food, making pretty, choosing good wine. When we planned a recent Autumn get-together with good friends, the folks at Cameron Hughes Wines offered to give us a hand by selecting the perfect libations. Knowing how much our friends love to drink wine (!) we knew this was a match made in heaven. After all, Cameron Hughes offers exceptional wine at an extraordinary value.
Cameron Hughes sent three varietals for us to sample:
- Cabernet Sauvignon from Rutherford (Napa Valley)
- Pinot Noir from Oregon’s Rogue River Valley
- Chardonnay from Arroyo Seco from Monterey County, CA

As I pulled out the good wine glasses and uncorked the bottles of red to breathe, I could tell we were in for a treat. (In truth, Pinot Noir is my favorite wine so I had to pre-sample a tad just to know what I was serving – I was not disappointed).
We like wine. We like to drink wine. We like our friends who like to drink wine. However, we are far from wine experts and often don’t know quite how to choose the right bottle. It can be hit or miss, and a miss can be yucky and embarrassing. Has that ever happened to you? It’s no bueno.
Knowing the experts at Cameron Hughes have already chosen the best grapes, the best vintages and have made an impressive collection of wines? Well, that is one less thing we need to worry about as we get ready to entertain. There really is a guy named Cameron Hughes, and he sources the world’s best wine and sells it for a fraction of the price, proving great wine doesn’t have to be expensive.
To test this theory, two of our friends at this Autumn event are serious wine snobs. Well, not in the snobby way – just in the expert kind of way. One has even passed the Level One Sommelier exam. And what did the experts say, you ask? They really enjoyed the Cameron Hughes wines, and even went so far as to detect a certain blueberry undertone in the Cabernet, mixed with a distinct chocolate finish.

Remember, I know very little about the distinguishing characteristics of a good wine. I like what I like, and I buy it again. The experts’ blessing is important, and my own blessing is shown in whether or not I would buy the wine again. And I would definitely buy these Cameron Hughes wines again.
Intrigued? Buy it yourself and test out your favorites – there are many choices on the Cameron Hughes website. I plan on stocking up. Once less thing to worry about as we plan our holiday parties. If you want help entertaining for the holidays, Cameron Hughes Wine can help, and is offering a 15% discount off your first order!
