Raising teens to stay away from the junk food can be a challenge, and we talk regularly about finding snacks the give our family healthy proteins while keeping the sugar and processed foods out of the picture. That’s why healthy snacks from Creminelli Fine Meats ™ keep our family fueled in good ways. And it doesn’t hurt that they actually taste really good. The kids (and parents) like them. A lot!
Hmmm let’s see: Sophia has tennis practice after school twice a week, Ava has cheerleading practice three times a week, and they both have tutoring appointments on different days in different places. That doesn’t take into consideration the choir performances, science fairs, sleepovers and team building events. AND THAT’S JUST THE KIDS! To manage it all, Triton and I have to hold a logistics meeting every Sunday to plan out the coming week and who will drive each kid to their various activities.
We cannot wait for Sophia to get her driver’s license so she can help shuttle herself around!
When we’re all going in a million different directions, remembering to eat well can be an after-thought. Heck, remembering to eat at all is sometimes difficult, and then that ravenous hunger sets in where a person could devour anything within arms reach. We try to have healthy snacks on hand to eat on the go, and plan to eat smaller portions throughout the day.
Creminelli Snack Trays are a great solution, and come in a variety of delicious choices that remind me of the Old Country:
- Felino & Manchego – The perfect pairing: Felino salami and mild sheep’s milk cheese from Spain make a delicious high-protein snack.
- Prosciutto & Aged Mozzarella – Paper thin slices of aged prosciutto paired with mozzarella.
- Prosciutto only – Silk thin slices of all-natural pork aged with sea salt.
- Casalingo, Gouda & Dried Cherries
- Sopressata, Monterey Jack & Cracker
Recently we stocked up on several Creminelli Snack Trays for the week ahead, and they disappeared quickly!
At cheerleading practice, Ava sometimes has long hours of rigorous exercise where she is tumbling and stunting over and over again. She gobbled up the Felino & Manchego Snack Tray on a short break, and was revived for another hour-plus of practice.
Jon likes to keep a couple of Creminelli Snack Trays in the frig at the office, ready for a quick pick-me-up when that mid-day slide starts to set in around 3 pm. A healthy snack from Creminelli and he’s back up and running through the rest of the day’s meetings and brainstorms.
Living in San Diego we like taking advantage of our beautiful weather by being outside or visiting the beach as often as possible. Most of the time, we don’t plan to be there long enough for an elaborate picnic with all the trappings, and Creminelli snacks are easy to transport in a backpack along with a beach towel and sunblock. Snackilicious.
We also love that all Creminelli products are created responsibly. We try very hard to be responsible consumers, and buy products that are made with integrity and kindness as well as a respect of our global resources. Creminelli products are made with choice cuts of natural pork raised on family farms practicing sustainable agriculture with no antibiotics, no growth stimulants and no animal derivatives in the feed. This matches our family’s strong commitment to sustainable practices and properly sourced foods.
Being a foodie, I personally love that Creminelli’s salami and fine meats are handmade by artisans, rigorously honoring traditional Italian methods of production. (Right up our alley, considering my Italian background and pride for my heritage.) They use the very best organic and imported Italian spices, which makes my heart happy.
I picked up several packages of Creminelli Snack Trays recently at our local Whole Foods, where they were displayed easily on an end-cap near check out. There’s a store locater on the Creminelli website so you can find a local store near you. Also check out the Creminelli Instagram page @creminelli and both #snackwellwithcreminelli and #discoverfood.
It’s like bringing a portable taste of Italy wherever you go! Besides, I’ve always been a sucker for salami and cheese.
