Travel to New York City can be both exhilarating and overwhelming, particularly when trying to make the right hotel choice. I’ve had the fortunate opportunity to visit New York many times for work and play. As a result, I’ve developed a long list of favorites, including this list of 10 great hotels near Javits Center.

Large business conferences are often held at Jacob K. Javits Convention Center of New York, a sprawling facility occupying six city blocks in the Hudson Yards neighborhood along the Hudson River. New York is widely considered the center of global business, and companies are located all across the metropolis. Yet, many people travel to New York to attend business and public events at Javits.

Javits Center Home to Many Conferences

With more than 500,000 square feet of exhibit space, Javits can provide for many uses at once. Multiple events can happen simultaneously here, bringing visitors from around the world to New York City. In fact, more than 2 million visitors attended trade shows, conventions and special events here each year.

However, there are not many hotels near the Convention Center. Those hotels that are nearby are often more traditional options than what some prefer.

Read on for a list of 10 great hotels near Javits Center, compiled in no particular order. Rates listed depend greatly on seasonality and hotel occupancy. If there is a big conference in town, rates may be higher and you are advised to book early for best pricing.

After many visits to New York City, here is a list I developed of top hotels catering to business travelers within reasonable distance to Javits Center. And by reasonable distance, I mean walking or a short ride via subway or car.

Andaz Fifth Avenue

This hotel is much loved by visitors for its artful simplicity and design and central location. Originally home to the global headquarters for Tommy Hilfiger, the Andaz Fifth Avenue has a rich history as a center for creativity. The hotel continues this tradition with rotating art installations that support local artists. The rooms here are well-designed and spacious. My suite was massive, with balcony, separate living room, and huge bathroom. The design and art were impeccable.

I love this hotel because it lacks a huge lobby and giant restaurants serving meals 24/7. This is quieter and more understated, with a basement restaurant called The Bar Downstairs & Kitchen that serves a crafted menu of delicious fare. The bar area melds into the restaurant, and both are dark and clubby.

If the desire is to be in the center of things, the Andaz is a great choice. It’s across the street from the New York Public Library and Bryant Park, and two blocks from Grand Central Terminal. The ride to Javits is about 15 minutes by car.

The Refinery Hotel

Also near Bryant Park, The Refinery Hotel offers 197 stylish rooms housed inside a 100+ year-old former headquarters building for a hat factory within the Garment District. The rooms here include soaring ceilings, exposed beams, sturdy columns and original brick walls – very historic and moody in a good way. My room included expansive windows and a view of the Empire State Building, and I loved the very NYC vibe. The hotel is also home to the fashionable and popular Refinery Rooftop bar, complete with velvet rope access. The ride to Javits is about 10-15 minutes by car, making it one of the great hotels near Javits Center.

The Archer Hotel

With more views of the Empire State Building, The Archer Hotel includes 22 stories and 180 rooms positioned as a modern boutique offering. Rooms here on the smaller side like many New York hotels, but by no means uncomfortable. Of course, there are larger suites available at The Archer as well. A reason why many love staying here is the feel of individuality and bespoke touches. Staff remembers your name and what kind of coffee you prefer. If it’s views of the Empire State Building you seek, this is one of the best hotels for that. Their rooftop Spyglass Bar touts arguably the best up-close photo opps available to the public. The ride by car is about 10-12 minutes to Javits.

Kimpton Era Midtown

Located just off Rockefeller Center on West 48th Street, the newly opened Kimpton Era Midtown New York rises 33 stories with 529 guest rooms. The hotel blends contemporary style with a sense of classic comfort, offering a setting that feels equally suited to business travelers and leisure guests. Although I have not yet stayed here, I look forward to it. I love a good Kimpton hotel – they always have great personalities. Javits Center can be reached via rideshare in 10-15 minutes.

Positioned just a short 7-minute walk from the Javits Center, the Courtyard by Marriott – Hudson Yards rises 28 stories with more than 390 rooms and offers a reliable, well-run option in a rapidly evolving part of the city. Rooms are efficient and contemporary, with clean lines and comfortable bedding, with many offering cityscape or Hudson River views from higher floors. This hotel delivers consistency, space by Midtown standards, and practical amenities that business and convention travelers appreciate. A 24-hour fitness center, casual dining options, and work-friendly lobby spaces, combine with strong WiFi, and in-room conveniences like mini refrigerators and coffee makers. Public spaces are straightforward and functional, with no unexpected surprises.

Four Points by Sheraton Midtown

Four Points by Sheraton Manhattan Midtown West is just two blocks from the Javits Center in the heart of Hudson Yards. It’s a smaller, 148-room hotel delivering a straightforward and dependable Midtown stay. Rooms are compact but clean and modern, with many offering views of the Hudson River or the surrounding skyline, and a layout designed for efficiency. The overall feel seems practical, with amenities like a 24-hour fitness center, business center, and on-site bar and restaurant that keep everything within easy reach. Its location is a major advantage, sitting within short walking distance of the High Line and Hudson Yards dining and shopping.

Pendry Hotel Manhattan West

Pendry Hotel Manhattan West is another of the great hotels near Javits Center. It’s positioned right within Hudson Yards and just a 5-minute walk to Javits. This luxury hotel feels like a calm, polished retreat in the middle of a fast-moving part of the city. Spaces are highlighted by rich wood tones and soft textures, and the signature Pendry brand attention to service never feels overdone. Rooms here are notably spacious for New York City, with floor-to-ceiling windows, layered lighting, and tailored furnishings that made it easy to unwind. Bathrooms have a zen/spa quality, with clean lines, generous vanities, and a residential feel. Downstairs, restaurants like Zou Zou’s bring a lively energy and delicious fare. I highly recommend this restaurant even if you don’t stay at Pendry – great for business dinners in a fun and classy environment.

The Pendry is not an inexpensive stay, with rates beginning in the $650/night range on the low end. If this is in your budget,  a stay here is definitely worth it.

Arlo Hotel Midtown

Located on West 38th Street between Times Square and Hudson Yards, The Arlo Hotel Midtown is closer to Javits Center. The hotel features nearly 500 guest rooms and one of the largest hotel footprints in the area. Still, it maintains a boutique sensibility through thoughtful design and curated experiences. Guest rooms are compact but efficient, with floor-to-ceiling windows and a focus on maximizing comfort within a smaller footprint. Throughout the hotel, a soaring multi-story atrium, expansive rooftop terrace, and multiple dining and lounge spaces create an inviting social atmosphere. The hotel is an easy 10-minute walk to the Javits Center through Hudson Yards, often faster than a drive during busier times.

There are so many fabulous hotels in New York City that are within reasonable distance of Javits Center, and I could not list them all.
